Asbestos Notification
As required by the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA), the Rensselaer City School District submitted its three asbestos management plans (Van Rensselaer Elementary School, Rensselaer Middle School, Rensselaer High School, and the Athletic Building) to the Governor for review. As required by law, those management plans are available for inspection within five working days after receiving a written request for inspection. All such written requests shall be submitted to the District’s designated person on a standard freedom of information request form. As always, there will be no charge for simple inspection of the plans. However, the Board of Education’s standard $.25 per page will apply to all requested photocopies.
The original of each management plan will be housed in the Business Office. Copies will be maintained in the Administrative Office of each building as required by law. Please direct any questions concerning the requirements of AHERA in written form to Mr. William Lyons in the Business Office. |
