Welcome to VR – A place where we Show Pride every day!
Our school has the privilege of working with over 650 students spanning from prekindergarten through grade 6. The school day begins at 8:15 a.m. and ends at 3:15 p.m. The school day for our prekindergarten students will end earlier at 2:30 p.m. Parents dropping off their child(ren) may do so no earlier than 8:00 a.m. Please understand there is no supervision for students before that time. For parents in need of before or after school supervision, please contact the Rensselaer Boys and Girls Club for information about their programs.
It is important that students learn independence, so parents or guardians who bring their child(ren) to school are asked to say their good-byes at the Elementary Entrance doors. Children arriving after 8:20 a.m. should be accompanied by a parent or guardian to the Elementary Office using our entrance doors. It is important that students arrive on time to school, so tardiness should be an infrequent occurrence.
Dismissal for our students will begin at 3:05 p.m. with the buses departing at about 3:15 p.m. Students will not be called out of class after dismissal has started, so please plan accordingly. For parents who will be picking up their child(ren) daily, please plan on doing so at the Auditorium Entrance doors located across from the first parking lot. Parents are required to enter these doors to pick up and sign out their child(ren). It is important that students be in school for the entire day, so please do not pick up your child early each day from school as this is disruptive to their education. Students being dismissed early from school should be an infrequent occurrence.
Studies show that a majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends, including the home medicine cabinet. Proper disposal of unused prescription and over-the-counter medications is important to protect our youth and community. Turn in your unused or expired medication for safe disposal Saturday October 26, 2019 from 10am to 2pm. North […]
