Rensselaer Athletic Association
The Rensselaer Athletic Association (RAA) is composed of a group of volunteers interested in the welfare of our student-athletes. Besides scholarships, each year RAA is responsible for many extracurricular events that include the sponsoring of a homecoming football game and the running of the highly successful Rensselaer Annual Tip-Off Tournament. At the end of each school year, RAA puts on an excellent banquet for the athletes and their parents and friends. Certificates, letters, and awards are distributed at the banquet. In addition, two graduating senior student athletes are awarded $1000 college scholarships.
RAA is the driving force behind other projects that not only aid the students at the high school level, but the entire community as well. Past RAA sponsored projects have included the football press box, the concession stand, the lights on the field, the basketball and football scoreboards, the new kitchen concession stand in the Middle High School , and the painting and renovation of the football bleachers. As in any non-profit group, RAA is looking for new members to help them in their efforts to make athletics a positive force in the lives of our youth. If you are interested, please call Mark Lanni, Director of Athletics, at the Rensselaer Junior High School , 436-8561. Our youth would greatly appreciate your participation. |
