Engineering Design Class Visits the Center of Gravity

Students in Mr. Bryden’s Engineering Design class recently visited the Center of Gravity as part of a prototyping/manufacturing project. The Center of Gravity is a makerspace, creative community, prototyping center, and manufacturing business incubator located in Troy.

Engineering Design Class Visits the Center of GravityStudents toured the facility including the new rapid prototyping lab that opened only weeks ago. Mr. Bryden worked at the center during a STEM Summer Internship Program through Questar III where he developed an advanced manufacturing project for students to custom design and build in class. Students used a laser engraver to cut and custom engrave parts for their project.

A special thanks to Questar III for introducing Mr. Bryden and Rensselaer to such a great resource for inspiring engineers as well as the Center of Gravity for allowing our students to use the space and machinery for the day.
