Extended Closure Update 4/6/2020

Members of the Rensselaer City School District Community,

Governor Cuomo announced today that public schools will be closed until at least April 29th due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Our teachers will continue to provide remote learning to the students for as long as we need to. We are looking forward to having everyone back in the building as soon as possible.

Board of Regents Chancellor Betty Rosa announced that the Regents Examinations scheduled for June 2020 will be canceled.  We expect to have more guidance on Tuesday as to what that cancellation means and hope to be able to share more of that information tomorrow.

Thanks to everyone that participated in the parade on Saturday.  It was a beautiful day for an emotional trip through the city. The smiles and signs were heartwarming.  We miss having the #fRAMily together. Check out our Facebook page for a video of the event.

Don’t forget that meals will be delivered on Tuesday and THURSDAY this week.  Then we will return to the Tuesday and Friday schedule.

If you haven’t signed up for meal delivery yet, please do!  Any child 18 and under in the city qualifies for this program.  It now includes 7 lunches and 7 breakfasts a week.

Wash your hands and stay #TogetherAtHome!  We are all in this together.
