Members of the Rensselaer City School District Community:
Our school is informing parents and guardians that a student in our Rensselaer Jr/Sr High School has been diagnosed with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). This person has not been on school premises since October 29th. This situation has not created an exposure in the building. There is no new risk.
The Rensselaer City School District will remain OPEN during this time. Our 9-12 grade students will remain on remote instruction for the rest of this week due to a prior exposure last week. We continue to work closely with the Rensselaer County Health Department. We will follow the NYSDOH established A, B, C’s of contact tracing and the NYSDOH school guidance.
As an important reminder, please do not enter the building if you do not meet the screening criteria. If you have been in direct contact with a COVID-19 positive person, do not come in. If you have been tested for COVID-19 and are awaiting results, do not come in. If you have traveled out of state per the NYS travel advisory list, do not come in. If you are experiencing any new or unexpected COVID-19 symptoms, do not come in.
Thanks in advance to all of you for helping and doing your part to keep the community safe. We want to do everything that we can to keep school open, our #fRAMily together, and continue live instruction safely.
