Members of the Rensselaer City School District Community:
We all need to remain diligent together as a community if we want to keep school open as the COVID-19 infection rate continues to rise.
We are continuing the enhanced screening process and minimize risk related to COVID-19. The most important improvement at this time is to make sure ALL parents understand when to keep children home from school. We will do this through a weekly submission confirming that each family will appropriately complete daily screenings. This will be accompanied by a daily screening reminder.
If your student will be in the building this week, please complete this form to confirm your understanding of the screening process before 7:30 a.m. on Monday. If the form is not completed and your student is in school on Monday, you will be contacted by phone to complete the form.
The district will continue to take the temperature of every student before they get on a bus or enter the building. We are adding this layer of partnership to further reduce the likelihood of potential exposure. We are also concerned about holiday travel contributing to a further increase in COVID-19 cases. Please travel safely and judiciously. Refer to the latest NYS Travel Advisory updates. All travelers should contact local DOH prior to travel and refer to the website with questions.
Thanks to everyone in advance for the partnership in improved safety.
