Update and Happy Thanksgiving!

Members of the Rensselaer City School District Community:

As we see the infection rate continue to rise in the region, we encourage everyone to be safe by limiting exposure, wearing masks, and washing hands.  Please see a detailed regional message that our neighboring schools are sharing concerning the current COVID-19 status.  For those of you traveling out of state, refer to the latest NYS Travel Advisory updates. All travelers should contact local DOH prior to travel and refer to the website with questions.  We need to work together to keep the community safe and school & businesses open.

When we were putting together the reopening plan back in August, there was no shortage of uncertainty.  We hoped that we could at least make it to Thanksgiving with live instruction.  We DID!  We hit a minor milestone in this crazy year. Now we hope that we can make it to Christmas break.

Some important dates to be aware of:

Monday, 11/23 and Tuesday, 11/24 are parent/teacher conference and remote learning days.  Be sure to talk with your teachers to see how we can work together to provide the best outcomes for each student.  Students need to make sure to complete all assignments over these days too.  They are still remote learning days.

Please note – With no students reporting to the building next week, The week of 11/30 will be a Week 2 (North Side).

Thanks to everyone that has successfully participated in our enhanced screening process.  Remember that you only have to fill out this form once before a student reports to school on Monday. We will send out screening reminders for the rest of the week.  There is no need to complete the form for any week that a student will not be in attendance.

Have a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving!
