Testing, Consent, and Safety

Members of the Rensselaer City School District Community:

Our school is informing parents and guardians that two staff members have been diagnosed with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Both have not been on school premises since December so the cases pose no new risk or exposure.

We have been working on our testing plan in coordination with Questar III and are awaiting further guidance from the governor’s office on detailed requirements.  If you have not already done so, please complete the parent consent for student rapid COVID testing that was emailed and texted directly to parents on Tuesday morning.  We need more responses to meet the minimum testing criteria.  Testing could start as soon as next week.  See another video by Questar III of what testing will look like.

We are reviewing our internal processes and procedures to make sure that RCSD is providing the safest environment that we can. Thanks to all of the parents for doing your part to keep the community safe.  We want to do everything that we can to keep school open, our #fRAMily together, and continue live instruction safely.
