COVID-19 Notification

Members of the Rensselaer City School District Community:

Our school is informing parents and guardians that an 8th grade student has been diagnosed with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). This person was last in school on Thursday,  1/7.  All students identified as contacts are being called by our nurses with specific quarantine instructions.

We also have a 12th grade student has been diagnosed with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). This person was last in school on Monday, 1/11.  All students identified as contacts are being called by our nurses with specific quarantine instructions.

At this time the school will remain on our normal operating schedule.

We continue to work closely with the Rensselaer County Health Department.  We will follow the NYSDOH established A, B, C’s of contact tracing and the NYSDOH school guidance.

As an important reminder, please do not enter the building if you do not meet the screening criteria.  If you have been in direct contact with a COVID-19 positive person, do not come in.  If you have been tested for COVID-19 and are awaiting results, do not come in.  If you have traveled out of state per the NYS travel advisory list, do not come in.  If you are experiencing any new or unexpected COVID-19 symptoms, do not come in.

Thanks in advance to all of you for helping and doing your part to keep the community safe.  We want to do everything that we can to keep school open, our #fRAMily together, and continue live instruction safely.
