Members of the Rensselaer City School District Community:
It is our collective hope that everyone had a memorable and safe February break. We are excited to welcome back group 2 students on Monday, Feb 22.
As a reminder, students in grades 1 and 2 can now attend in person every week! We are no longer alternating weeks at these grade levels and excited to move forward. The additional change required new elementary bus routes. Routes for grades 6-12 remain unchanged at this time.
We are happy to report that winter sports are successfully under way. All safety protocols are strictly enforced and our weekly COVID-19 testing of competing athletes has gone smoothly. Thanks again to the Alumni Association, Rensselaer Athletic Association, all community members and organizations that have made funding for these opportunities possible this year. Our community, students, and families are so very grateful.
As the infection rate continues to fall and the CDC publishes new recommendations related to schools, our district will seek out every option to improve our instructional model for the students. It certainly feels like we are headed in the right direction.
Thanks to the entire school community for your patients and partnership throughout the pandemic so far. The #RensselaerStrong perseverance is shining through.
For those with students that will be in the building this week, don’t forget to fill out the weekly screener.
