Members of the Rensselaer City School District Community:
Our district was informed today of two elementary students that tested positive for COVID-19 over break. This represents no new risk or exposure in the building.
We were also informed that Rensselaer Academy will pivot to remote instruction due to a case. Our operations have been purposely isolated between the buildings so that situations like this would also present no new exposures.
In breaking news, the federal government has denied the New York State request to waive standardized testing this year. Our district will prepare accordingly to administer the exams in April. We will share more information as it becomes available. I think our students, teachers, and community have proven that we are up for ANY challenge!
