Vaccines, Masks, Internet Discount, and Football

Vaccinations:

The Rensselaer County Health Department will be hosting a Pfizer Vaccine Clinic for anyone 12 and older at the Rensselaer Ambulance Garage (901 3rd St) on Monday , May 17 from 2 – 4 p.m. Children must be accompanied by a parent and bring proof of age.

Masks:

There is some confusion surrounding the new CDC guidance that fully vaccinated people no longer need masks.   We need everyone to understand that the school is still subject to New York State, Rensselaer County, and our own reopening rules.  Undoubtedly all of these will be updated over time, but please understand that as of right now we are all still wearing masks in the school to the extent necessary.

Emergency Broadband Benefit Program:

This new program allows for a $50/month discount on broadband internet access.  Every household that has a student in our district qualifies for the discount because we are a USDA Community Eligibility Provision school that gives all students free breakfast and lunch.  We plan to distribute instructions to apply for the discount on Monday.  Hopefully our households can save some significant money.
