Members of the Rensselaer City School District Community:
The end of the year is fast approaching! It looks like we will be able to enjoy some summer-like weather this weekend too.
The prom was held last night and our students had a great time. It was the best glimpse of normalcy that our students have seen in school since the pandemic started.
We have some important dates coming up:
Monday, June 7 at 6-7pm, Dr. Karen Peper will hold a parent night to better understand and provide behavioral supports for students with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Tuesday, June 8 at 6-7pm, Live stream of our high school concert
Wednesday, June 9 at 5:30-7:30pm, Athletic awards night
Week of June 14-18, Early Dismissal for all students, Chromebook and textbook collection, moving up ceremonies, and last day of school. (details will be put out over the next week)
June 17, Class of 2021 Graduation!
There has been new news on NYS mask guidance in schools. While the return to normalcy is exciting for all of us, some of the media reports are confusing. Some are mistakenly reporting that this guidance is in effect as of Monday. We ask everyone for just a little patience. The school hopes to receive official guidance on Monday. Our reopening team that has successfully guided us through all of the changes this year will meet again as soon as possible and evaluate how the official regulations work for our school. Then we can implement any changes.
Please continue to wear masks in the same manner that we have been in the past month. We don’t want this to create unnecessary confusion and conflict to end the school year. Thanks to everyone for your understanding and patience with this issue.
