Summer is Here!

Members of the Rensselaer City School District Community:

*We still have some unreturned Chromebooks, iPads, and hotspots from last school year.  Please return any devices that you may have to the JrSr High office M-F between 8am and 2pm as soon as possible.

We are excited to welcome back a record number of students for our summer enrichment program on Monday, June 12.  The bus pick-up times can be found on our website.  Busses should be leaving school at 11:45 and dropping students off beginning at 12pm.  Parent drop off (8:05am-8:20am) and pick up (11:50am-12:00pm) will be at the same places as during the school year. See more information in the letter from the administrative team.

New York State recently directed schools to use the COVID-19 Summer Camp Guidance for our summer programs.  Since our reopening plan included a flexible mask policy, this won’t change much for summer programming compared to the end of the school year at RCSD.  All students will still need to wear masks while on the bus and while traversing the halls.  Masks will not be required for the majority of the day when students are seated and receiving instruction, when they are eating, or when they are outside.

We are also still mandated to ensure daily screening for any students in the school.  In an effort to make the process convenient for parents, we will continue the weekly confirmation that daily screenings are happening at home.  If your student is attending our summer enrichment program, please fill this out prior to school each week.  Thanks to everyone for your partnership in this effort.

Be sure to check the updated 2021-22 School Calendar to see when students will return to school and when breaks will be next year.

Make sure to enjoy summer!

Joe
