Members of the Rensselaer City School District Community:
The district has been notified of one staff member and two students that have tested positive for COVID-19. The staff member and one of the students have not been in the building and did not pose any new risk of exposure. The second student was last in the building on Thursday, 9/16. As we followed the contact tracing guidance document, there were very few identified contacts from classes in the building, but any unvaccinated modified football team members will be required to quarantine.
Hopefully each of these three people feel better soon!
The contact tracing process reassured us that as long as we follow distancing and mask protocols appropriately, the number of students missing school will hopefully be kept to a minimum. Everyone wants to keep kids in school safely. We are all working hard to make that happen and thank you for your partnership in that goal.
Please remember to send students to school with a mask and to keep the kids home if they have any signs or symptoms of COVID-19.
