Quarantine and Isolation Protocols

Members of the Rensselaer City School District Community:

The district and the county have received multiple reports of students and families not following CDC guidelines on quarantine and isolation.  This type of reckless behavior can put the entire community at risk.  It is our duty to each other to take action to reduce exposure.  The district works tirelessly to implement layered prevention strategies in an effort to keep the entire #fRAMily safe and school open.  This effort also requires community partnership.  If you know of a person ignoring quarantine or isolation protocols, please report it.

Let’s work together by taking the following precautions:

  • Maintain social distancing when out in public.
  • Wear masks at all times when inside schools and on school buses.
  • Wash hands with soap and water frequently and thoroughly. Use hand sanitizer when soap and water is not available.
  • Monitor for COVID-19 symptoms and in the event someone is sick, stay at home.

The district has been notified of one JrSr High student that has tested positive for COVID-19.  As we followed the contact tracing guidance document, identified contacts have already been contacted directly by the district.

Thanks to everyone that continues to partner in the name of student safety.  We will get past this together.
