Partnership in Safety and upcoming Spring Break

Members of the Rensselaer City School District Community:

Thanks to everyone that came and participated in our input session and Board of Education meeting last Thursday.  It was a great conversation about our community partnership in safety.  Our Board also approved a budget to present to the public in May.  We will have plenty of information to share about that in weeks to come.

The district received reports of a commercial tractor trailer in the parking lot during elementary dismissal today.  This is clearly a safety concern.  We have seen several pictures of the vehicle.  Thanks to those that shared the photos.  After discussion with the Rensselaer Police Department, we are asking for your help.   If anyone (parents, staff, or students) sees this happen again, please try to get a clear picture of the license plates on the vehicle.  Please share any such pictures with the school and/or the police department.  By all of us working together, our community partnership in safety will fix this problem.

If we all continue to work together to provide a safe and productive learning environment for our #fRAMily, everyone wins.

Communication is critical in any partnership.  Please be sure to encourage friends and family to sign up for emails and texts through SchoolMessenger to ensure that you receive important communications.

Don’t forget that we will have an early dismissal on Thursday, 4/14 to allow for parent/teacher conferences in the afternoon.  The school will be closed for Spring Recess through Sunday, April 24th.  We will resume classes on Monday, April 25th.  ENJOY YOUR BREAK!

If you know anyone interested in driving a bus, please send them to us.  If you see a bus driver, please thank them for what they do!
