RCSD will hold a public vote for our capital project on Tuesday, 12/10/24 in the Auditorium Foyer from Noon to 9 p.m.
This project will be focused on protecting the investment of the school by fixing the envelope of the building (roof & walls) to remedy water damage and prevent further damage. It will also address water-related damage to our sidewalks and parking lots.

You found mold? Should I be concerned?
The EIFS that covers the sides of the building was not installed with proper drainage. This has caused moisture buildup within the walls which has led to multiple issues, including mold. The mold that we found is between the concrete blocks and the outer EIFS, not on the inside of the building. This will continue to get worse and eventually pose a health risk if we don't fix the core problem.
Why can't the original contractor be held responsible for incorrect installation?
We did explore this strategy over the past several years. It was made clear to us that the statute of limitations (6-10 years depending on which parts) was exceeded before the problems presented themselves as items that needed to be remedied.
How do I get an absentee ballot?
That applications for absentee ballots and early mail-in ballot will be obtainable between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, except holidays, from the Office of the Rensselaer County Board of Elections. The Rensselaer County Board of Elections must receive completed applications at least seven (7) days before the vote (Tuesday, December 3, 2024) if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or the day before the election (Monday, December 9, 2024), if the ballot is to be delivered personally to the voter.
