Members of the Rensselaer City School District Community,
The 2023-24 school year is upon us! You should have received communication from Mr. Palmer or Mr. Pitaniello over the past week or two to prepare for the new school year. We are certainly looking forward to having the building bustling with excited kids again! Our staff will be here preparing on Tuesday (9/5) and Wednesday (9/6) for the children to arrive on Thursday (9/7) for the first day of school! This time of year always inspires many good questions about dates, bus routes, supplies, assignments, and many other aspects of school. As in the past few years, we have assembled a “Welcome Back” page to find all of those answers.
One of our main goals this year will be to emphasize the importance of good attendance. As we prepare our kids for their future careers, commitment and attendance will be important life skills that lead to success. You will see the district reiterate this goal throughout the school year. Thanks in advance for your partnership in teaching this life skill!
Please note that due to traffic safety concerns on the access road, the city has requested that the gate to Partition St. be closed and locked. Drivers can no longer get to school via Partition St.
If you have not already, please check out our brand new website. This tool will combine our website information, messaging, and social media channels to make it easier for everyone to be on the same page. Download the iPhone or Android version of our new Rensselaer City School App so that you are always up to date on notifications. We will continue to send out reminders about this new resource.
If you believe that information is missing from the new site, please email helpdesk@rcsd.k12.ny.us. We want to provide the best communication resource that we can.
Let’s have an awesome school year together!
Joe
