Members of the Rensselaer City School District Community,
We just wanted to say thanks to everyone that helped us work the kinks out of elementary drop off and pick up. Our second day went much smoother than the first. The traffic moved quicker in the morning, and we were able to safely dismiss all parent pick-up students in only 10 minutes. That is the fastest I have seen since before COVID-19.
With that said, there is always room for improvement. Please consider utilizing our express drop-off at the auditorium entrance in the morning. We have helpers stationed in the building that will guide students to where they need to go. As more parents use this express option, you could save yourself time AND potentially double the speed of the drop-off process.
For elementary pick-up, if parents arrive between 3:10pm and 3:20pm, wait times will be minimal. Arriving significantly earlier only results in a longer wait and more frustration. None of us want that. The football game that was suspended last week is now scheduled to be completed on Monday at 6pm. We are hosting volleyball games on Monday & Thursday and a soccer game Friday. Come out and support our Rams!
If you are in JrSr High and have not yet signed up for a Chromebook, PLEASE DO SO ASAP. If you need help, we have shared a tutorial. We want the devices in students’ hands so we can avoid any disruption to instruction.
When you have a minute, download the iPhone or Android version of our new RCSD App so that you are always up to date on notifications. We will be using this resource for parent communication from the district and directly from teachers in an effort to have a one-stop-shop for our parents.
