Members of the Rensselaer City School District Community:

Halloween week is always a fun time.  Check out a few pictures from Tuesday.

I’d like to bring to your attention that election day is Tuesday, November 7th.  This is always an opportunity to model responsible citizenship to our younger generation by bringing them to the voting booth and showing them how it is done and why it is important to our democracy.  Let’s raise a generation of active voters together! In addition to that, the ballot this year will include a proposition that can help level the playing field for Small City School Districts by resetting the mandated debt limit in a way that it would match all other districts in the state.  Please don’t forget to turn your ballot over and weigh in on this important proposition.

As a matter of safety, please remember to come to a complete stop at each of the stop signs on school property.  We have had an increasing number of people running the signs.  We also ask that everyone model civil behavior for our students, particularly while on school grounds.  We all need to contribute to the safe school environment as a community.

Lastly, we will be holding our annual go-home-early drill on Friday (11/3).  This will be a dismissal 15 minutes earlier than normal for everyone.  Please be here to pick up your students 15 minutes early or plan to meet them at the bus stop 15 minutes earlier in the afternoon.  Thank you all for your patience, support, and #PartnershipInSafety.

Joe
