Members of the Rensselaer City School District Community:
We have a busy week! Please be sure to get out and vote on Tuesday between the hours of 12pm and 9pm. We have 3 candidates running for 2 Board of Education seats. We are also seeking approval for a Capital Reserve fund to ensure that the district can address some needed repairs without impact to taxpayers. Plenty of information is available on our website including the budget newsletter. As always, if you have questions about the budget that we didn’t answer on our website, please feel free to reach out to me directly. I will do my best to get you information.
We are proud to host our annual High School academics awards ceremony on Tuesday at 6:30 in the auditorium. We hope that parents and students are all able to make this important celebration of student successes! The annual district-wide art show is also tomorrow evening from 5:30-7 pm! Jr/Sr HS work will be located in the foyer outside the auditorium and the Pre K-5th grade work will be in the elementary library. Come and enjoy what our talented students have made!
The district is holding an early release day on Wednesday, 5/22 for staff development.. Please note the different times for this day as PK and 6-12 will release at 11am and K-5 will release at 11:45am. Students WILL receive lunch prior to dismissal.
Lastly, there will be no school on Friday, 5/24. This is a “give-back” day from unused emergency days this winter. The weather prediction for that day looks great. Certainly far better than a snow storm! We hope that everyone is able to enjoy the 4-day Memorial Day weekend.
