🌟 Mrs. Agan’s & Mrs. Kyer’s Class Honors Fearless Females for Women’s History Month 🌸
This March, Mrs. Agan’s and Mrs. Kyer’s students at Van Rensselaer Elementary dove into an inspiring activity: “Meet My Fearless Female.”
Our young Rams worked hard, and we’re so proud of their creativity and effort.
We wanted to bring your attention to the type of earring pictured below. We have had several instances of students with earlobe pain and irritation due to this type of earring back. They tend to get stuck in the piercing hole and cause irritation and pain, and increase risk of infection. If possible please avoid using this type of earring back to secure your child’s earrings. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
🧠 Rensselaer Jr. Sr. High Hosts Brandon Saho for a Powerful Mental Health Talk 🗣️
On March 19, 2025, Rensselaer Jr. Sr. High School had the privilege of hosting Brandon Saho, a former ESPN and NFL reporter, to speak to our 9th-12th graders.
Brandon shared his inspiring story—facing suicidal thoughts, finding recovery, and launching The Mental Game to break the mental health stigma. Our Rams stepped up with poignant questions, making it a truly impactful day.

On Thursday, March 13th, Mrs. Kerr and Mrs. Hadden’s 3rd-grade class at Van Rensselaer Elementary School presented their unique “Potanimals” (potato animals) to parents in the Large Group Instruction (LGI) room.
These endangered species creations sparked awe and pride—complete with photos and videos capturing the fun!

Today, Mr. Higgs and his talented "Hairspray" cast spent the day rehearsing for their upcoming performances on March 27th-29th. They had the incredible opportunity to perform, refine their scenes, ask questions, and learn from Tony Award Nominee and Broadway performer Kerry Butler, who originated the role of "Penny Pingleton" in 2007! 🎶✨

Today, Mrs. Gillis brought a sprinkle of St. Patrick’s Day magic to Van Rensselaer Elementary by baking adorable Leprechaun cake houses for her students to decorate!
Our young Rams had a blast turning these tasty treats into mini masterpieces—complete with icing, candies, and a whole lot of creativity. What a delicious way to celebrate!
