The Rensselaer Fire Safety Course had an incredible experience today as the NYS Trooper Aviation Unit landed their Bell 450 helicopter right on our baseball fields! Students were able to watch the landing up close, meet both members of the crew, and explore the helicopter while learning about aviation’s role in law enforcement and emergency response. It was an unforgettable opportunity that brought real-world first-responder work to life.

A special thank-you to Trooper Standish, FTO and current member of the Army National Guard, and Pilot Jordan Seaburg, a United States Marine Corps veteran. Their service—both in the military and now through their work in aviation and public safety—provided our students with an inspiring example of dedication, discipline, and leadership.

Our Fire Safety Course continues to open doors for students by showcasing the many pathways available beyond high school. We are deeply grateful to the NYS Trooper Aviation Unit for taking the time to visit, inspire, and engage our students with this extraordinary hands-on experience.
