Beyond the Month: 4th Grade Explores Black History
Posted Date: 02/26/26 (08:08 AM)
Over the past few weeks, Mrs. Alix-Hansen and Mrs. Carbone’s 4th Grade Class have been diving deep into Black history through the power of storytelling. By exploring a curated selection of picture books, our students connected with the experiences and contributions of Black individuals throughout history.
What We Explored:
- Powerful Themes: Students discussed courage, perseverance, justice, and the strength of community.
- Historical Figures: Learning about the leaders and icons who shaped our world today.
- Emotional Connection: Using rich illustrations and thoughtful narratives to bring history to life in the classroom.
Our Commitment:
While February is a special time for celebration, we believe that one month is definitely not enough. Our passion for learning about Black history will continue to move forward in the months ahead as we weave these important stories into our learning all year long.
