Civics in Action: NYS Inspector General Visits Rensselaer!

Posted Date: 03/26/26 (03:23 PM)

Today, Mrs. Frasco’s U.S. History classes had a front-row seat to how state government works! We were honored to host the New York State Office of the Inspector General as part of their "40FOR40: Bringing the Public into Public Integrity" guest speaker series.

In celebration of their 40th Anniversary, attorneys and inspectors engaged with our students to discuss:

  • The structure of the NYS Executive Branch
  • How the IG promotes integrity and transparency
  • Practical ways for students to get involved in their communities
This hands-on experience aligns perfectly with our commitment to Civic Readiness, providing our 11th and 12th graders with real-world insights into public service and accountability.
A huge thank you to the OIG team for inspiring our future leaders!A group of students and adults engage in a discussion, with text overlay reading 'Civics in Action: NYS Inspector General Visits Rensselaer!'.A classroom setting with two large screens displaying information about the NYS Executive Branch and Governor.
