Rensselaer CSD Celebrates Inaugural CTE Fire Science Graduation Ceremony
The Rensselaer City School District proudly hosted its first-ever Career and Technical Education (CTE) Fire Science Graduation ceremony today, honoring a combined class of dedicated juniors and seniors.
Throughout this pioneering school year, students engaged in rigorous hands-on training and technical coursework. The graduates successfully completed several state and national benchmarks, including the New York State Basic Exterior Fire Operations Course (BEFO), the Basic Wildland Suppression Course, and the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Wildland Search Course. Additionally, students earned their official CPR and AED certifications through the American Heart Association, alongside gaining extensive exposure to diverse fields within emergency services.
To mark the conclusion of this successful academic year, the students were celebrated with a district luncheon at noon, followed by their formal commencement ceremony at 1:00 PM.
We extend our congratulations to the inaugural class of the CTE Fire Science program for their hard work and commitment to public safety, and we look forward to continuing this vital program into its second year.
