George Krause Heads to NYS Track & Field Championships
Amid today's graduation festivities, the Rensselaer City School District proudly congratulates and sends off senior standout George Krause as he departs for Rochester to compete in the NYSPHSAA Track and Field State Championships.
George will be representing the Rams in the pole vault event. He enters the state tournament following a historic outdoor season where he captured the Section 2 Championship and successfully broke his own school record with a vault of 14 feet, 6 inches. This follows his outstanding performance from earlier this year, where after a memorable district send-off for the indoor track championships, he went on to earn a podium spot with a 3rd place finish at the NYS Indoor State Championships. George now aims to improve upon that performance on the outdoor stage this weekend.
As George prepares to conclude his high school career, the district recognizes the immense impact he has made on our athletic programs. His leadership, dedication, and sportsmanship will be greatly missed by faculty, staff, and his fellow student-athletes next year.
Send-Off Ceremony Details:
Due to the high volume of district events scheduled for today, we are unable to facilitate a solo send-off walk like the one hosted during the winter season. Instead, George will be formally acknowledged and celebrated by students and staff immediately preceding the beginning of the Senior Walk-Off this afternoon.
Please join us in congratulating George on an exceptional year of athletic achievements and wishing him the absolute best of luck at the state level!
