Kindergarten Classes Observe Life Cycles with Annual Butterfly Release
Today, students in the Kindergarten classes of Mrs. Deso, Mrs. Fisher, and Mrs. Hadden participated in a memorable, hands-on science milestone by releasing their classroom butterflies.
Over the past several weeks, the young students have been actively studying the biological stages of life. Through direct observation, they tracked the complete metamorphosis of the insects—learning how a caterpillar builds a chrysalis and emerges transformed into a butterfly.
This engaging project allowed students to connect classroom curriculum with the natural world. While the students expressed that they will miss their new classroom friends, they thoroughly enjoyed the learning experience and the excitement of watching them take flight on campus today.
