Rensselaer City School District Honors Four Retiring Staff Members

At the conclusion of the 2025–26 academic year, the Rensselaer City School District formally recognized and bid farewell to four distinguished faculty and staff members entering retirement. Combined, these individuals have contributed more than 110 years of institutional experience, care, and dedication to the Rensselaer community.
The district extends its deepest gratitude to the following retirees for their exemplary careers:
- Barb Capozzola: Concludes 18 years of service operating the district's Alternative Education Program, completing a remarkable career of over 42 total years in public education.
- Vanessa Shanahan: Celebrates 30 years of dedicated service to the district as a High School Special Education Teacher at the Jr.-Sr. High School.
- Sue Keneston: Completes 30 highly impactful years of service as a Teacher Assistant, supporting classroom learning and student development.
- Tammy Hilstro: Retires after 32 years of dedicated service as a Teacher Assistant, leaving a lasting legacy of commitment to student success.
