Rensselaer CSD Partners with Questar III BOCES for First Responders Day

Today, the Rensselaer City School District, in collaboration with Questar III BOCES, welcomed local and state public safety organizations to campus for an interactive and educational First Responders Day.
Throughout the day, students engaged in hands-on demonstrations designed to teach emergency preparedness, fire safety, and community service awareness:

• Homeland Security & Emergency Services: Brought their mobile fire safety simulator, allowing students to learn life-saving protocols while safely experiencing simulated kitchen and residential fire conditions.
• Rensselaer Fire Department: Guided students through using real fire hoses to extinguish simulated targets and set up water sprinklers for students to enjoy.
• Law Enforcement & Military Partners: Representatives from the Rensselaer Police Department, New York State Police, and the Army National Guard met with students, provided educational insights, and demonstrated equipment used in the line of duty.

The district extends its heartfelt appreciation to Questar III BOCES and all participating agencies for dedicating their time, resources, and expertise to create such a impactful experience for our student body.
