Get to Know School Resource Officer Clarke Roehr
Mr. Roehr is starting his fourth year in the Rensselaer City School District as the School Resource Officer. After over a decade on the Rensselaer Police Force, Mr. Rhode joined the fRAMily before the 2023-24 school year. He says the connection with the students has been the most rewarding part of his time in Rensselaer so far.
"From listening to their stories, and attempting to give them advice or examples of my personal experiences, to helping with school work.
I would have never imagined that I would be doing homework ever again, but there have been times I have had students in my office, (#2 pencil in my hand), helping with math, science or even social studies."
"RCSD has been and will always be a tight-knit, family-oriented district. Support not only from the staff and students, but from the parents and community, is important to the day-to-day operations of the district," Mr. Roehr said.
Mr. Roehr will continue the long-standing SRO program at RCSD for the 2026-27 school year. He was greeted on Tuesday morning by a cheer and applause from the staff.
